The Algo 8196 SIP PoE+ Paging Speaker and IP Loud Ringer can operate individually or can support up to three daisy-chained Algo 1196 Satellite Speakers for cluster and multi-speaker installation (see images). Daisy-chain requires directly wiring speakers to each other (not through network). The Algo 8196 features 50 SIP paging extensions plus 10 Alerting/Ring extensions with multicast scalability for voice paging, music and audio broadcasts, and notification capability.
WHAT WE LIKE:The Algo 8196, is the big brother to the Algo 8186, adding PoE+ and satellite speaker capability for increased power output which can be used to alert people in noisy shops, warehouses, airports, or outside the building like school yard or parking lot AND it's waterproof. The 8196 is loud but adjustable and is highly customizable via web GUI. Most of all, the 8196 accepts connection to the Algo 1196 satellite speakers to to cover more area and reduce device costs.
The Algo 8196 requires the installer to connect the unit to PoE+ power for full capability. Extensions can be registered with most any premise or hosted Communication Server supporting 3rd party SIP endpoints independent of a telephone (no IP telephone is required). Multicast Support allows for use with multiple device to device receive or broadcast. Wideband G.722 codec support provides optimum speech clarity and intelligibility in an HD Voice environment. Voice paging and notification announcements are easier to understand, particularly in noisy environments. Emergency alerts feature by extension. The recommended installer should be familiar with configuration and programming of Voice over IP devices via web-based graphical user interface or provisioning. Can be wall or ceiling mounted or for outdoor installation, the mounting plate must be connected to a 2-Gang Electrical Box (not included) using the supplied gasket for weatherproof installation. While this product will operate at low power on a standard PoE network, it requires PoE+ IEEE (802.3af/at) 48V for full functionality and power output. If PoE+ is not available, use PoE+ Injector.
